The Premier League

Premier League

On Manchester City…

Manchester City will win the title; it's just a matter of when and what the points margin will be. They've been so impressive, beating big teams this year and they certainly won't be worried about anyone in the second half of the season.

They can be mentioned alongside the great Manchester United and Liverpool sides of the past if they win back-to-back Premier League trophies and win the Champions League.

On Arsenal…

Arsene Wenger has been a fantastic manager but Arsenal are in a shambles at the moment and it's a great shame. Wenger has a two-year contract and the club won't sack him so I think he's going to see that deal out.

Arsenal are at a crossroads in the club's history. They need to be really careful about where they're going to be in 18 months time because they're on a slippery slope. They're not in the Champions League; they're out of the F.A Cup; they're nowhere near winning the Premier League; their three star players are out of contract in the summer; and who knows if they'll finish in the top 4 this year.

It defies logic that they're facing losing Sanchez and Ozil on free transfers to their closest rivals this summer. I think Sanchez will sign for Mancester City by the end of the month. Ozil will make himself available for a big contract elsewhere in the summer and there will be plenty of takers. The team will miss them because I don't think Arsenal will be able to sign good enough replacements. The best players want Champions League football and would rather play for the two Manchester clubs or Chelsea.

Liverpool and Coutinho's transfer to Barcelona…

Coutinho is a really big loss to the Premier League. He's a quality player who will slot into that Barcelona midfield with no problem. Barcelona had the money following the sale of Neymar and flexed their financial muscle to get the man they wanted.

It is vitally important that Liverpool reinvest that money wisely in order to qualify for the Champions League and fight for the Premier League title. They've paid over the odds for Virgil van Dijk from Southampton and he will be a huge signing, but they really do need to keep improving their defence.

If Mahrez is available at the right price then they should snap him up but Liverpool's attack is already outstanding. It’s the defence which will cost them competing for trophies when it really counts so I would prioritise a new goalkeeper and perhaps another central defender.

Courtois and Hazard to Real Madrid…

I think Hazard could move to Real Madrid this summer. Hazard is a joy to watch and he's in fantastic form, but if Real Madrid come up with the money then I think he will leave. You'd be looking for at least £150m for Hazard, he might even break the fee paid for Neymar. I think there's a chance that Courtois could go to Real Madrid too. He's an excellent goalkeeper and he would demand up to £60m, another world record for his position.

We don't like to admit it, but the Premier League's best players always leave for Barcelona or Real Madrid when they come calling. The lure will always be there and we've seen that with Ronaldo, Bale, Suarez and now Coutinho. I think Hazard and Courtious could join that list this summer.

Harry Kane…

Harry Kane is the best goalscorer in the world right now, scoring more goals than Lionel Messi last year, and strikers always demand a premium because putting the ball into the back of the net is the hardest job. Harry Kane is easily worth £200m in today's transfer market. Tottenham need to give him the contract he deserves to keep him at the football club, even if that means giving him £250k a week, otherwise he'll join Real Madrid or Barcelona.
